Event: Ice Storm-Northeast Arkansas
December 4, 2002 - December 10, 2002
Customer: Entergy-Arkansas

Synopsis: Activated on 12/4/02 by Entergy-Arkansas, Base Logistics, LLC (Base) provided resources and services to support personnel in an outage response caused by an ice storm in Northeast Arkansas . Initial personnel deployment was for 475. Base secured catering services and resources required to operate staging areas at Batesville and Newport , AR. Additionally, Base secured catering services for Entergy's Little Rock Call Center. Logistics managers were deployed to coordinate the local logistics effort and to interface with Entergy Arkansas Logistics personnel. Base's Incident Command Center secured the required resources and supported the on-site personnel.

Challenge: On Sunday morning 12/8/02 , Entergy closed the staging area at Newport and re-deployed those personnel to Batesville. Entergy opened a second staging site in Batesville to accommodate the increased workforce. Base on-site personnel quickly arranged movement of Newport resources to Batesville and Incident Command secured appropriate tenting to house the catering operation. This site was fully operational by 6:00PM , Sunday.
